Description:
A Safety Audit is an examination of a motor carrier’s operation that provides educational and technical assistance on safety and the operational requirements of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and applicable Hazardous Materials Regulation (HMR), and to gather critical safety data needed to make an assessment of the carrier’s safety performance and basic safety management controls. Safety audits do not result in safety ratings. Participants will utilize software programs specific to the Safety Audit program.

Prerequisites for Attendance:
Successful completion of North American Standard Part A, North American Standard Part B and General Hazardous Materials courses. Working knowledge of computer software/hardware. Host agencies shall provide students with (or require students to bring) the most current version of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and Hazardous Materials Regulations.
