The Advanced Drug and Alcohol Investigative Techniques (ADAIT) course is designed to enhance a safety investigator’s knowledge of Parts 40 and 382 for use during Compliance Investigations and Service Agent Reviews. The in-depth class focuses on understanding the Drug and Alcohol roles and responsibilities of carriers, drivers, and service agents (C/TPAs, SAPs, MROs).

FMCSA investigators and State MCSAP personnel certified to conduct Compliance Investigations.

Prerequisites for Attendance: 
Successful completion of North American Standard Part A, North American Standard Part B and General Hazardous Materials courses. Experience conducting Compliance Investigations.
Objective: 
Upon completion of this course, participants will have an enhanced understanding of how to conduct a thorough investigation of a motor carrier's drug and alcohol program. Federal participants will also be prepared to conduct Service Agent Reviews on Collection Sites and Substance Abuse Professionals, including complaints filed through the National Consumer Complaint Database.
