    Review of recent regulatory changes in FMCSA policy as they apply to using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) during roadside inspection of driver’s hours of service. Will cover Definitions, Applicability, Exceptions, Falsification, supporting documents, and techniques to apply when determining compliance with the hours of service utilizing ELD.

    Objective

    Presentation is designed to provide the student with a basic understanding of the ELD and how to apply the tracking systems when determining compliance with the hours of service while conducting a driver inspection.

    Target Audience

    Federal, State MCSAP or local law enforcement personnel responsible for conducting driver inspections. Note:  not intended for persons who conduct both roadside inspections and compliance investigations or safety audits.

    Prerequisites for Attendance

    Basic understanding of Hours of Service as it applies to Automatic Onboard Recording and Electronic Logging Devices during a roadside inspection.
